🗽🇺🇸 They thought they could steal it from us. The flag. The anthem. The fireworks. The entire idea of America. They thought if they wrapped their lies in red, white, and blue, we’d forget what those colors were meant to represent.
But this Independence Day, we’re here to remind them: freedom was never theirs to hoard, and it damn sure isn’t theirs to define.
We are not the ones storming the Capitol with zip ties and confederate flags. We are the ones rebuilding the republic they tried to burn.
We are the nurses, the teachers, the caretakers, the veterans, the immigrants, the parents—those who still believe in the radical promise that everyone deserves a voice, a vote, and a place to call home.
And no, we will not go quietly into the night. We will not let this regime—this hollowed-out mockery of democracy—choke the light from the very nation that gave birth to liberty. They can stage their parades of cruelty. They can fly their dictator’s banner over the rubble of the Constitution.
But we are still here. Still fighting. Still free in the ways they will never understand.
Patriotism is not blind obedience. It’s not cheering for tanks on Pennsylvania Avenue or chanting hate in the name of “order.”
Patriotism is resistance when your country loses its way. It’s courage when the powerful demand silence. It’s standing up—not for flags or anthems—but for people. For justice. For truth.
And if that makes us enemies of their state, then so be it. We’ll wear that badge with pride.
Because the founders we celebrate today were once considered enemies of their king. And the torch they lit 249 years ago wasn’t meant to be locked behind fences and guarded by men in ski masks.
It was meant to be passed forward—generation by generation—until every person could walk freely in its light.
So light your fireworks. Grill your burgers. March in the streets. Hug your kids a little tighter. Not because things are easy—but because we are still here. Because the dream hasn’t died.
Because even now, especially now, there is something sacred about choosing hope in the face of despair.
This is still our country. Our fight. Our Fourth of July. And we’re not done yet.
🗽🕊️ If this work means something to you, and you’re in a spot to help—I’d be deeply grateful. I do this late at night, between raising kids and trying to stay afloat. It’s not easy to ask, but even the smallest support makes a real difference. Thank you for thinking of it.

👉 If this has your heart pounding or your blood boiling, I urge you to dive deeper. I’ve been tracking this authoritarian creep for years, and by now I’ve written somewhere in the ballpark of a thousand pieces—each one connecting the dots they hope you’ll miss. From ICE raids to Supreme Court sabotage to the death cult economics of “Project 2025,” it’s all there. So if you’re new here, take a moment to read back through the archives. And if you’ve been with me from the start—don’t stop now. More is coming. Much more. Stay sharp, stay loud, and watch this space.
